Description
Haviland Limoges Schleiger 1029-3 Pink Carnation Gravy Boat With Undertray 1892Nice porcelain gravy boat with matching undertray in the Saint Cloud blank. Nicely decorated in the Schleiger 1029-3 pattern with large pink carnation. Has a gold gilt diamond and clouded gilding on the handle, with clouded gold gilt daubs to the edge. Marked in green TH Haviland with a castle over France. This is a whiteware mark used by Theodore Haviland in Limoges France during the 1892. The gravy boat is also marked in black Set Saint-Cloud Patent Applied For. The tray has the castle mark and a red decorator's mark that reads Manufactured by Limoges Theodore Haviland. This book does not appear in either of my books on Limoges porcelain.
May have some minor wear to the gilding, but otherwise excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
Measures 8 5/8" long x 3 3/4" wide x 4 1/2" tall including the lid.
The tray measures 9 1/4" long x 5 3/4" wide.
The total height with the gravy boat sitting on the tray is 4 3/4" tall.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display-ability of the piece.
