Description
Offered is this lovely shallow side bowl or bone dish made of fine porcelain china in Limoges, France, by Haviland. The mark H&Co. indicates this piece was made in the 1890s.This is Schleiger no. 461 on the Marseille blank 9.
This little bowl might have been designed to serve ice cream.
The dish has one handle on a sculpted blank. It has elegant gold trim.
The floral design is comprised of pink roses with green foliage
.
The roses appear around the sides of the dish and in the middle.
The bone dish measures 6 inches long (15.2 cm) and 3.75 inches wide (9.5 cm). The height is 1 inch (2.5 cm).
Very good used condition. No chips or cracks. Gold trim in very good condition.
These pieces come from the estate of a lady who had a large mix-and-match collection of French Haviland china. Her favorite blanks were Star and Romeo. Her preferred décor included small pink flowers, often roses, with gold trim. We have identified as many patterns as we can. Other items will be listed as time permits.
